Full-length marble statue of a white man in middle age. He is dressed in a ceremonial robe with braid embellishments on the sleeves, a repeating oval pattern around the collar and join, and a floral pattern on the main fabric. He is clutching the robe at his chest with his left hand and holds a roll of papers in his right hand, at his side. Underneath the robe, the he is wearing a waistcoat and cravat. The man has thick sideburns and a neckbeard, and his short hair is parted slightly to the left. He is gazing downwards with a neutral expression. The statue stands on an octagonal base, on which the subject's name is carved. The sculpture is situated in the Palace of Westminster and is surrounded by gothic stonework and carved doors.
