1845-1845 | WOA S35
Full-length white marble sculpture of a young man. His hands rest on the hilt of a sword, the tip of which resting in between his feet. The sword has a visible crack across the blade around two thirds of the way down. The man's right foot rests on a slightly raised platform and he gazes downwards with a neutral expression. He has shoulder-length wavy hair and a moustache, and he is dressed in breeches, a cloak, and a wide high-neck collared shirt that is gathered at the waist. He also appears to have a sash across his chest that sits diagonally from his right to left. The sculpture is situated in the Palace of Westminster and murals are visible on both sides of the statue.
