Full-length white marble sculpture of a white man in middle age. He is gazing forward and is stood with his arms folded across his chest. He holds a roll of papers in his right hand. Behind him right leg is a stack of five books topped with a small box, out of which two rolls of papers are emerging. He has a very small moustache, a short beard, and thick curly hair. He is wearing a shirt and bow tie under a fastened knee-length frock coat. The sculpture stands in the Palace of Westminster and is surrounded by gothic stonework.
