Colour painting of the central section of a larger artwork. A young man with short brown hair stands beneath an oak tree with one foot on a dead green dragon. The dragon is slumped on the floor with a broken red pole speared in its side. In the man's right hand is a large sword with its tip resting across the dragon's head. His left hand is raised and holds a rectangular shield with the cross of St George on it, white with a red cross. He wears an elaborate gold full suit of armour with only his hands and head exposed. A white halo is behind his head. Behind him is an orange and cream pattern of shell motifs.
