Colour painting of the right hand section of a larger artwork. A woman with curled hair stands beneath a rowan tree with red berries, wearing a blue dress with purple drapery, with a blue scarf covering her head. Her right arm isn't visible in the image, but in her in her right hand she carries a large book with red pages and in her left hand she carries a lit oil lamp. To her left are two bold red lines forming the beginning of a tall arch. In between these lines is an incomplete blue and orange shell motif. Behind her is an orange and cream pattern of shell motifs. The background of the image is a light cream canvas colour.
