Portrait of a white man in middle age sitting in a green leather and dark wood chair. A red suitcase with a gold handle and a blue-covered book sit on a table next to him, on top of loose papers. His elbows rest on the arms of the chairs and his fingers are interlaced. He has short, thick grey hair and a receding hairline. He wears a three-piece suit with black blazer and waistcoat, and grey pinstriped trousers. The chain of a pocket watch is visible at his middle. He sits against a background of brown tones, and the artist's name and the date of the portrait is written in the upper left corner.
