The greyscale image depicts five figures kneeling with their hands clasped as in prayer. Two of the figures face to the left and three of the figures face to the right. Between the figures, in the centre of the image, are two shields bearing two different heraldic arms. Either side of the shields lie two lecterns with one open book on each. Beneath the figures reads 'Willielmus Compton miles, cum pia consorte sita, hanc senesiram vitrari fecit. An Dni 1520. Beneath the image reads 'Sir William Compton Black Rod 1513-1528'.
