Oil painting of two Tudor period figures. On the left is a masculine figure standing facing left, wearing a bronze coloured suit of armour, with a green pleated skirt. In one hand they carry their helmet with red plumage and the other hand holds a long lance whose handle is resting on the floor and length leans against the figure. Behind the figure is a large gold and red flag and a coat of arms floats above his shoulder. The figure has shoulder length light brown hair and looks forward with a neutral expression. Under the figure is a decorated band with 'JAMES' painted in it. On the right is a female figure standing facing right, wearing a floor length green dress with very large richly decorated sleeves and a richly embroidered orange and red 'kirtle' or skirt. In both hands which are resting at waist level, they hold a long pendant with a red jewel hanging on the end. They wear a black headpiece with black fabric that covers the hair. A coat of arms floats above their shoulder, and under the figure is a decorated red band with 'PR MARGARET' painted in it.
